As always; mental health support, cups of tea, wifi / internet access, printing, community shower, community laundry, take home meals, company and connection available daily.

Please drop in to make a booking to see counsellors or therapists as spaces are limited.

All our services and support remain free to access for people in need. Contributions by donation are welcome.

Rebuilding the Wardell School Community Survey

This survey is designed to gauge school community desires in what should be included in the architectural aspects of the rebuild of Wardell Public School.

Backyard BBQ

Friday Night Community Socials

We will be back on the BBQ this Friday and opening up the courtyard pavilion as Wardell's social hot spot and community beer garden.

Families welcome, bring your own sundowners and knock-off drinks. Join us and put your feet up.

BBQ provided from 5pm, raffle draw at 7pm. We will be cooking snags and there will be plenty of room on the hotplate if you want to bring your own meat.

Bring a salad or a plate to share.

OZ HARVEST UPDATES FOR WARDELL

OzHarvest’s food relief items are available to anyone in the region doing it tough.

Fresh produce bags are available at no cost from Wardell CORE on Wednesdays from 12:30-1:30

Updates :

Oz Harvest will have a media team on site this Wednesday to film the pop up market with ABC. No-one will be filmed unless they explicitly indicate they are happy to participate

November 2022

Temporary pause to all market operations 21st + 23rd November 2022

Due to resourcing challenges, the OzHarvest van will not run for these two dates.

December 2022

The weekly OzHarvest Mobile Market will operate throughout the Northern Rivers on an updated schedule from 28th November – 23rd December 2022. They will circulate the new schedule on flyers as soon as possible.

Please remember :

- The offer of one extra bag is at the discretion of the on site team and is dependent on stock availability.

- Any requests to reserve more than two bags must be made BEFORE the market day - text/call 0490 262 519 with your name & location please.

We will facilitate a morning of mixed medium crafting with a range of supplies on hand.

Tamara Smith MP for Ballina has announced that she will be holding town hall meetings across the region over the coming weeks with a local event at the Ballina Masonic Hall scheduled for Tuesday 6th December 5:30-7:30

This will provide a key opportunity for residents, organisations and volunteers to discuss what they would like to see in our region on the road to recovery.

Everyone is invited to have their say and the event will be joined by representatives from key agencies so they can listen and learn from us too.

Murwillumbah CORE

We are thrilled to be in part an inspiration behind the latest developments of the Murwillumbah Community Organised Resilience Effort which is now the governing body coordinating the ongoing efforts of Hub 2484 as the community-led Murwillumbah Donations and Volunteer Hubs.

HUB 2484 was also recognised as the ‘best in the state’ for the Resilience NSW Get Ready Community Award.

We will continue to build strong and collaborative relationships with community-led recovery initiatives throughout the Northern Rivers to offer support, share ideas, resources and build capacity.

Wardell CORE continues to be community-led by a team of members who share a desire to support our region through disaster recovery and to build community connection and resilience.

Wardell CORE is an independent, ACNC Registered Charity and not-for-profit association supported by a wide range of partners, charities and community groups to provide humanitarian aid, mental health support, access to goods, services and social connection.

Wardell CORE is a community facility located at the “Old Bank” 3 Sinclair Street, Wardell. We are open 9am - 4pm, Tuesday - Saturday.
