Pizza Party ! Friday night social

See you again this Friday for our weekly community social night.

Got a favourite pizza ingredient ?? Bring something to share.

BYO drinks and a gold coin donation for dinner and spare change for raffles. Everyone is welcome. See you from 5pm. We will be firing pizza’s from 5:30-7:30.

Get your game on, join in a game of cards or board game. We have plenty to share or bring your own.

Tank Water Testing

Northern Rivers Flood Action Group Inc.

has dropped off some more testing kits for their Water Testing Project sponsored by Summerland Credit Union.

The kits are free and available to anyone who has been flood affected and is reliant on tank water (NOT town water). The kits also contain information on how to clean and disinfect water tanks.

Northern Rivers Community Legal Service

The Northern Rivers Community Legal Centre will be joining us at the Wardell CORE every 2nd Thursday beginning this Thursday 30th March from 1 - 3:30pm

This is a drop in service however to guarantee an availability please call WardellCORE to arrange an appointment

Update from Broadwater Bowling Club

From BROADWATER BOWLING& RECREATION CLUB

Hello Members, Apologise for missing February newsletter To recap from the last newsletter, the roof is complete ($80,000).

We have Wotherspoons Food Services attend the club and have designed the kitchen refurbishment, we will have extra room with the new design encompassing the void near the ladies toilets (which will be re configured) this will allow storage of goods and the fridge and freezers all in one location allowing the kitchen area to be more efficient in preparation and cooking.

We have purchased a Kegarator which can hold three kegs on tap, currently Tooheys and when we receive the connection to allow XXXX and Super Crisp we will have cold tap beer for all

Entertainment:

Al and friends have been a great attraction each month, we have changed up the day and time. Date is every 3rd Saturday of each month and staring at 2pm to 6pm

St Patrick's Day Friday the 17th March was a great success, Irish stew, green wine and delicious cupcakes with many patrons dressing up in green for the night (check our facebook page for photos)

We are open Thursday & Friday nights from 5pm and would love to see everyone come along on Friday for "food from the van", Hamburgers, Chicken burgers, Fish Chips and the popular Pluto pups (a favorite).

Last month over 500 of our community came together for an amazing evening in recognition of the last year that we have all shared together in tragedy, recovery, and renewal.

We laughed together, remembered the challenges, shared our grief, danced, cried and connected.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made this such a memorable event.

Thanks also to everyone who completed the survey from the event. Your insight is so valuable in helping us plan for future events and in how best to support the community in times of crisis.

Mushroom Magic !

Some great successes from our “Growing Gourmet Mushrooms Workshop !”

Exciting to see more mushrooms popping! This is Maria’s and Bob’s bucket which is fruiting beautifully and ready to harvest and a gorgeous plate of fresh picked oysters grown by Belinda!

We are thrilled that everyone has loved this workshop and look forward to repeating in the second half of the year.

Stay tuned for our next workshop and field day scheduled for 16th April

For our active crew who have been joining the weekly "Balance and Strength" class with Michelle - please note that this weekly class will now be held at the Wardell Hall.

There have also been enquiries about more intensive group exercise and personal training programs - if this is for you please get in touch and we will organise a weekly session !

Are you pregnant, a new mum, or a family with young children ?

Every week on Thursday we will be hosting a mothers group at Wardell CORE to offer support and connection for mum's in the community.

Feel free to drop by and join in. Come for a cuppa and bring your children for this informal play group and an opportunity to chat with our support team. Facilitated by Michelle

OzHarvest Mobile Market is now on on Wednesdays 11:00-12:00

OzHarvest’s food relief items are available to anyone in the region doing it tough. If you need food support please contact Oz Harvest and visit us at Wardell CORE to access our dry goods food pantry.

Orange Sky Laundry

A reminder that the amazing Orange Sky laundry is continuing services on Wardell. Drop in with your laundry and stop for a cup of tea and a chat with the team.

Wardell CORE continues to be community-led by a team of members who share a desire to support our region through disaster recovery and to build community connection and resilience.

Wardell CORE is an independent, ACNC Registered Charity and not-for-profit association supported by a wide range of partners, charities and community groups to provide humanitarian aid, mental health support, access to goods, services and social connection.

Wardell CORE is a community facility located at the “Old Bank” 3 Sinclair Street, Wardell. We are open 9am - 4pm, Tuesday - Saturday.
