As always; mental health support, cups of tea, wifi / internet access, printing, community shower, community laundry, take home meals, company and connection available daily.

Please drop in to make a booking to see counsellors or therapists as spaces are limited.

All our services and support remain free to access for people in need. Contributions by donation are welcome.

Learn life-saving skills with safeTALK

Keep others safe through difficult times using safeTALK steps (Tell, Ask, Listen and Keepsafe)

The ability to support our community during the flood crisis has never been more relevant and suicide awareness skills have never been so important.

The safeTALK presentation is designed to increase suicide awareness and alert participants to the signs that a person may be considering suicide.

safeTALK can help you:

Become more comfortable talking about suicide
Support friends and co-workers in times of distress
Build professional skills

Tuesday December 6th 4:30 - 8:00pm

This 3.5 hr workshop is completely FREE. Hosted by WardellCORE and fully funded by Healthy North Coast. Join us in a safe and comfortable environment to learn these skills together. Living School community outreach concert

This week we are in for a special treat with a live concert performance by the Living School. This semester the students are exploring the world through the lens of service. Having visited Wardell to understand the impacts of the flood these amazing youth are returning to put on a special performance for the Wardell Public School and the wider community.

Join us this Friday at Wardell CORE at 11:30 for a 12:00 performance, followed by bbq, and an opportunity to mingle. We really hope that any parents of Wardell Public School students who are available can join us for this fantastic opportunity and to get behind this great initiative by the Living School students.

We are so incredibly grateful for the support from OzHarvest in our little town of Wardell. Since the floods this partnership has provided essential access to fresh produce for community members still doing it tough.

We cant thank you enough OzHarvest for being such an important part of our recovery.

Fresh produce bags are still available at no cost from Wardell CORE on Wednesdays NOW from 11:30-12:30

Pop-up Info Sessions for Resilient Homes Program

With many of the previously advertised community information sessions now fully booked, including the Ballina session on Wednesday 7 December, we have managed to negotiate with the Northern Rivers Reconstruction Corporation to hold one of the Community Information Pop-Ups here in Wardell.

The Pop-Up session will be held in Wardell on Thursday 8 December, from 10am-12pm at Wardell CORE, 3 Sinclair Street, Wardell.

SureDuz mosquito candles from Rotary Club of Ballina on Richmond

We are once again the grateful recipients of community support from our amazing local Rotary Club of Ballina on Richmond. In partnership with Rotary Australia World Community Service Ltd. (RAWCS) which delivers humanitarian aid through the Australian regional network of Rotarians, Clubs and Districts they have delivered us with a pallet load of SureDuz candles.

Conditions are ripe to make mosquito season a critical issue to the Northern Rivers but beyond being simply itchy insects, mozzies buzz around with transmissible viruses like Ross River Fever and Barmah Forest Virus.

Wardell’s Big Day Out

Thanks so much to everyone who made our Big Day Out such a great community event !

From a morning of meditation, gardening workshops, community herbal care, SES information session, kids craft to an evening of amazing music there was something for everyone.

Big shout out of gratitude to all our volunteers and WardellCORE team who helped prepare the space through various transitions and pack down.

Our event supporters Rotary Club of Ballina on Richmond , Australian Red Cross and NSW SES Ballina thank you so much for your resources, time and volunteers.

To the amazing team at Community Herbal Care clinic thank you so much for your ongoing care and nurturing of our community providing this amazing free service.

From everyone who enjoyed an amazing shoulder massage from Shannon ! Thank you we can’t wait to have you visit again !

A special thanks to MJ, Mel, Anissa and Carolyn for making our kids Christmas craft space so much fun with some brilliant face painting, Christmas decorations and fairy magic for everyone.

Big shout out to Michael our BBQ master who served us all up delicious burgers all night long.

And to all the amazing musicians who kept us up beat throughout the evening. Thank you so much to Cigar Box Smithy and The Sunset Trio for your time and support of our community + special mention to Sparksy and Tony for some great additions to the jam session.

Support for Wardell Public School

Between raffles, Return and Earn, cash donations and generous contributions we have managed to squirrel away enough funds to send the Wardell Public School some essential kitchen supplies for the staff room and breakfast program. In hope of supporting the wellbeing of the staff and teachers a new coffee machine was an easy choice and a new dishwasher was delivered this week to complete the immediate needs of the breakfast program.

Wardell CORE continues to be community-led by a team of members who share a desire to support our region through disaster recovery and to build community connection and resilience.

Wardell CORE is an independent, ACNC Registered Charity and not-for-profit association supported by a wide range of partners, charities and community groups to provide humanitarian aid, mental health support, access to goods, services and social connection.

Wardell CORE is a community facility located at the “Old Bank” 3 Sinclair Street, Wardell. We are open 9am - 4pm, Tuesday - Saturday.
