BREATHWORK AND COLD EXPOSURE THERAPY.

Still a few spots left in this Saturdays breathwork program. This has been a widely popular workshop that we are continuing to offer at a significant subsidy. Jump in and get involved.

Practitioners report a wide rage of benefits that are valuable for us all in stressful situations such heightened focus and reduced inflammation.

The value of this technique is that it is very simple to learn, easy to follow and to repeat yourself in your own home.

WARDELL RIVER FESTIVAL - MARCH 2ND

Get excited ! We sure are, and thrilled to be bringing the Wardell River Festival to town.

Get up early and join us for a Kayak adventure up the Richmond River, we will have a heap of kayaks to share or bring along your own so you dont miss out.

We will have kids craft and art workshops throughout the afternoon, using the amazing artworks that local youth have made from last years youth program.

Once again Out of the Blue Adventures will be offering river cruises throughout the afternoon and for sunset.

We have a wild lineup of live music including the effervescent Wasabi Peas and the The Bleeding Tongues - the Living School Rock bands. Swinging into a 4 piece jazz set with Standard Deviation, followed by our local River Drive. We have an amazing opportunity to be joined by internationally recognised Aboriginal singer songwriter from Eagle Bay in WA : Kerrianne Cox and the get ready to boogie with The Whiskies !!

Our amazing partners at the Rotary Club of Ballina on Richmond will have the BBQ hot for an awesome feast and our own Pizza team will have our famous pizza's baked to perfection throughout the evening.

Join us for a Kayak Adventure on the Richmond River !

Reconnect with this amazing natural resource, engage with nature, and get a new perspective.  We will be taking a group kayak trip along the banks of the Richmond, under the Wardell bridge and then up Bingal creek.

Expect to see a wide range of birds and local wildlife including beautiful Kingfishers in this lush wetland forest.  Enjoy this trip upriver in a tandem kayak for 2, bring a friend or make one on the day.  These vessels are very easy to use, paddle and navigate - no experience necessary and there will be plenty of support.

Children under 16 are more than welcome to participate so long as they are accompanied by an adult.

Life jackets, kayaks and paddles will all be supplied.  Simply turn up and jump in !

If you have your own kayak or canoe then just turn up and come along.  We are encouraging everyone who can paddle to join in.

Based on the latest research into neuroplasticity and epigenetics along with almost 40 years of working with individuals and communities experiencing trauma, you’ll leave this workshop feeling educated, empowered and inspired to implement what you learn.

Post-traumatic growth becomes possible when people manage their brain more effectively by   implementing evidence-based skills and strategies for healing.  Quest for Life helps participants learn how to manage symptoms as well as learning about how trauma impacts the brain, and how healing is made possible.

Valued at over $300  This course is fully funded and positions are limited.

Training will be held over 2 consecutive Saturdays 16th and 23rd. Attendance at both days will be required to complete this training.

Welcome to our new season social sewing program!

Whether you're a seasoned enthusiast or just starting out, we're thrilled to have you join us. We need people who are interested in using sewing machines, happy to cut patterns, hand stitch, or embroider to help us scale up and create a crafty production line.

Our program is designed to bring together individuals who share a passion for sewing, making and crafting and a desire to make a positive impact in our community. Through our collaborative efforts, we'll not only hone our sewing skills but also create beautiful and functional goods that will benefit others.

Starting next Tuesday at Wardell CORE from 1-4pm, this activity will run every second week. We have at least 4 sewing machines available and welcome you to bring your own.

We are also calling for donations of cotton fabrics, end of rolls or decent offcuts.

Get ready to unleash your creativity, connect with fellow sewers, learn skills and make something wonderful together! Our first projects will include draft stoppers, tote bags, and hot water bottle cosies for winter.

Eat Well Wardell

We continue to provide fortnightly community fresh produce bags and have a range of options to improve your access to fresh food.

Produce bags come in three sizes for different family sizes and we offer costs recovery at a sliding scale so you can opt to pay at a rate you can afford.

Mindful Healing - facilitated by Northern Rivers Women and Children’s Service

In "Mindful Healing", we offer a compassionate and supportive journey of healing and resilience for women who have faced personal adversities or the challenges of natural disasters in the Northern Rivers.

Our six-week program focuses on understanding trauma, cultivating inner strength, and developing practical skills in emotion regulation, self-compassion, mindfulness, boundary setting, and self-care.

Our facilitators provide evidence-based psychoeducation and strategies including interactive exercises, creative expression, and group discussions, in which participants find solace, connection, and empowerment. Together, we embark on a path to heal from the emotional scars, build resilience, and rediscover hope in a nurturing and understanding community. You are not alone; join us as we embrace the journey of recovery and growth.

Wardell’s Wellbeing Program offers a dedicated space for professional counselling services and qualified mental health supporters for the community and Wardell district.

Our facilities and programs are an essential asset for our community’s recovery and mental health. We are privileged to have the support of supported by Healthy North Coast to be able to provide this safe and welcoming space and offer a range of support with our amazing team of registered counsellors and mental health workers.

We provide a drop-in centre, appointments on demand and referral services available 6 days a week. We can also offer outcalls and outreach or consultation by phone. Our mental health services are free, discreet and confidential. You can come and talk to our professional team at any time for help, advice or support or just drop in for a cuppa and a chat.
