  We now have Mental Health and Wellbeing team members available Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 9am-4pm. Please call to make an appointment for a private consultation or drop-in for this FREE support program.

  As always; mental health support, cups of tea, wifi / internet access, printing, community shower, community laundry, take home meals, company and connection are available daily. All our services and support remain free to access for people in need. Contributions by donation are welcome.

Christmas was made Merry by many

There is no avoiding the fact that this Christmas was hard for lots of people in our region.

But what wonderful generosity and support we have received in the Wardell district.

With the great kindness of so many people, organisations, companies, charities and groups there was certainly enough cheer to spread around.

To everyone who helped make Christmas festive, colourful, friendly and fabulous we thank you. For all the amazing Christmas hams, cookware, children’s toys, vouchers, cakes, hampers, decorations, trees, music, food, company and random acts of kindness.

Such a wonderful display of community spirit.

Christmas Cans Collection

Once again a huge thanks to Bob for organising our Return and Earn program and everyone who has been bringing in their Christmas recyclables for us to cash in.

If you have been building up a pile of bottles and cans from your festive recycle for a cause ! Bring in your drink containers and help us fundraise for Wardell.
Please provide only the eligible containers as pictured, uncrushed and with barcodes visible. We prefer them unmixed and in boxes if possible. Deliver to the WardellCORE back gate for collection.

Loneliness does not discriminate

Loneliness and social isolation are high-risk factors for so many Australians and disaster recovery highlights just how important connections and a community of support are for so many.

Community centres offer a great place to build relationships, socialise and remain active and engaged.

Wardell's community hub is open 5 days a week for anyone in the region who feels like a cup of tea and a chat. Drop in any time.

If you have a friend or neighbour who needs some encouragement, bring them down to any of our regular and weekly activities, Friday night social events, or just during the day for a game of cards and a yarn.

Who are WardellCORE ?

Wardell CORE continues to be community-led by a team of members who share a desire to support our region through disaster recovery and to build community connection and resilience.

Wardell CORE is an independent, ACNC Registered Charity and not-for-profit association supported by a wide range of partners, charities and community groups to provide humanitarian aid, mental health support, access to goods, services and social connection.

Wardell CORE is a community facility located at the “Old Bank” 3 Sinclair Street, Wardell. We are open 9am - 4pm, Tuesday - Saturday.
