Join us this Saturday 4th of Feb and get your kitchen herb garden growing. Morning tea provided.

Nothing beats having fresh herbs at hand ! Bring your own pots and plant out a herb garden to take home.

We will have a range of herbs to plant out, soil, compost and fertilisers to mix and will discuss how to get the most out of your herb garden, and different propagation / division techniques so you can expand as you wish.

If you have got your own pots please bring them along or if you have large 10" pots or larger ha you want to get rid of from home - please donate them to the hub.

There is a limit of 30 people for this workshop, please join the waiting list if we run out of space so we can contact you to run a repeat workshop

Home raising : funding is committed to elevate liveable areas above a property-specific flood level
Home retrofit : funding is committed to retrofit and/or repair liveable areas to improve the resilience of these areas for future floods

Wardell Community Recovery Session

with David Younger

Join us February 2 at WardellCORE for a pancake breakfast and an opportunity to hear from Psychologist and leading disaster recovery expert Dr David Younger

Come along to understand more about personal and community recovery after a natural disaster like flooding. Hear from Dr David Younger who will share key messages designed to help you understand more about coping with the challenges we are facing and, what you can do to maintain your overall health and wellbeing. He will also talk about how communities can best support themselves.

All community members welcome!

T his event is supported by Headspace National Youth Mental Health Foundation, NSW Department of Health and Australian Red Cross.

Coming up ! Creative Journey 3 Week Program

The team at Healing and Resilience Australia will be running their Creative Journey program which is an Art Therapy Group dedicated to finding ways to express ourselves when it is difficult to find words.

This Term's Creative Journey focuses on your personal experience of the March 2022 Norther Rivers Natural Disaster.

The first of these Monday night session will be the 6th of February - register now to participate

Friday Social Night

Join us this week for a hot baked spud. Bring a topping to share, we will have plenty of coleslaw, cheese, meat and vegetarian options.

Balance and Strength class is on every Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 with Michelle Henry-Osborn

This program is FREE and available to everyone. Find your balance and build a strong foundation

Weights and equipment provided.
All ages and stages are welcome.

Every week on Thursday we will be hosting a mothers group at Wardell CORE to offer support and connection for mum's in the community. 9am - 10:30am

Feel free to drop by and join in. Come for a cuppa and bring your children for this informal play group and an opportunity to chat with our support team.

Facilitated by Michelle Henry-Osborn

Join us on Saturday mornings at 7am for gentle meditation and mindfulness exercises

Cushions provided for sitting, chairs also available. Accessible for all levels of interest.

Our fortnightly "Crop Swap" is on again this week from 9:00am at WardellCORE

All are welcome to join in to share plants, produce, seeds, ideas and information. This is a great group to join a community of backyard growers and garden enthusiasts.

OzHarvest Mobile Market is now on on Wednesdays 11:00-12:00

OzHarvest’s food relief items are available to anyone in the region doing it tough. If you need food support please contact Oz Harvest and visit us at Wardell CORE to access our dry goods food pantry.

Orange Sky Laundry

A reminder that the amazing Orange Sky laundry is continuing services on Wardell. Drop in with your laundry and stop for a cup of tea and a chat with the team.

Wardell CORE continues to be community-led by a team of members who share a desire to support our region through disaster recovery and to build community connection and resilience.

Wardell CORE is an independent, ACNC Registered Charity and not-for-profit association supported by a wide range of partners, charities and community groups to provide humanitarian aid, mental health support, access to goods, services and social connection.

Wardell CORE is a community facility located at the “Old Bank” 3 Sinclair Street, Wardell. We are open 9am - 4pm, Tuesday - Saturday.
