Fitzroy Park – Playground Upgrade

Ballina Council have collated all the feedback received during the community survey period asking for the types of equipment, features, and themes that the Wardell Community would like to see with the upgrade of the playground at Fitzroy Park.

Based on the highest number of responses from the feedback they have designed the attached draft playground plan for the upgrade of Fitzroy Park in Wardell.

The key features identified for inclusion from the feedback were:

  • Obstacle course

  • Multi-level tower fort

  • Swings

  • Climbing structures

  • Nature play

The new playground design has been drafted to integrate these new key playground features and landscape improvements with elements of the existing playground and facilities, the existing natural and functional features of the site such as the large, established, and significant trees, pedestrian pathways, vehicle access, and tennis courts."

There is still an opportunity for the community to provide feedback before progress on the design for the playground is progressed further.

We will be collating responses, suggestions and feedback to send to Council via this webform or you can email Ballina Council - Open Spaces directly openspaces@ballina.nsw.gov.au or call Landscape Architect, James Norton on 1300 864 444
